On 24th October 2018, the MOBI-AGE project team presented the project at the CITTA 11th Annual Conference on Planning Research, held at Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Coimbra, through a presentation. The theme of the conference was “The Portuguese-Speaking Area and the Future of Cities”.
The CITTA 11th Annual Conference on Planning Research intended to launch an in-depth reflection on the challenges that the cities are currently facing, many of them related to technological innovations occurred in recent years and to the ensuing urban development prospects, which are not necessarily positive. These challenges will surely have a strong impact on urban morphology, mobility and quality of citizens’ lives. Therefore, they should be studied so that the response of cities is also innovative. Moreover, in this conference were discussed the corresponding needs in terms of advanced training courses and fundamental and applied research in the Portuguese-speaking area. This edition ran in parallel with the 1st day of PLURIS 2018 – 8th LUSO-BRAZILIAN CONGRESS for Urban, Regional, Integrated and Sustainable Planning.
