NECTAR2019- “Towards Human Scale Cities- Open and Happy” (5th-7th June 2019)

Between June 5th and 7th, the MOBI-AGE team went to the University of Helsinki, Finland, to announce their project at the 15th biennial NECTAR conference called “Towards Human Scale Cities- Open and Happy”. We presented in a session whose theme was “Elderly mobility challenges” and we had the opportunity to meet other international researchers interested in this topic, and thus there was a sharing of ideas and suggestions that will greatly contribute to the development of this project. It is a very popular topic at the moment due to the increase of the elderly population that is happening all over the world and, consequently, to the change of the patterns of mobility that has been verified in the last decades.

It was a very enriching experience, which allowed us to know a different reality from what we have in Portugal and to know other study approaches on the subject of mobility and accessibility of the elderly in other countries.
